UK retailer Boots moves to house brand baby wipes made from viscose in move to increase portfolio’s biodegradability [From the web]

LONDON, October 3, 2019-

Boots is switching its own-brand baby wipes to a greener material in a bid to save hundreds of tonnes of plastic from going to waste. The company today announced that new biodegradable wipes are now on sale from its website and across its larger high street stores.

Priced at 75p per pack, the baby wipes are made from viscose, an FSC-certified wood-based material that enables them to degrade "significantly faster" than standard wipes, according to Boots, which said it is also aiming to ensure all its own-brand wipes are biodegradable by the end of next year.
