OSAKA, Japan, August 8, 2024-

Toyobo today released its earnings results for the three months ended June 30, 2024. Net sales achieved a year-on-year increase of 8.4% to 105.2 billion yen ($0.72 billion). Operating profit was 3.1 billion yen. Ordinary profit was 2 billion yen. Profit attributable to owners of parent was 0.8 billion yen.

Its environmental and functional materials segment includes its nonwovens fabrics business and functional fiber materials business. Demand for automotive use nonwoven materials recovered during the period under review. Sales in this segment grew by 12.3% year on year to 28.1 billion yen. Operating profit was 1.3 billion yen.
