Sumitomo Seika Q3 fiscal 2024 results: sales of SAP up 11%




TOKYO, February 17, 2025-

For the nine months ended Dec. 31, 2024, Sumitomo Seika’s net sales increased by 5.1% year on year to 112.7 billion yen ($0.74 billion). Operating profit grew by 37.3% to 8.7 billion yen. Ordinary profit surged by 49.2% to 9.6 billion yen. Net income attributable to owners of the parent jumped by 71.5% to 6.9 billion yen.

In terms of the super absorbent polymers (SAP) segment, during the period under review, net sales increased by 11% year on year to 88.1 billion yen. Operating profit grew by 62.5% to 6.4 billion yen. This was due chiefly to favorable impacts of changes in foreign exchange rates and increased sales volume in the Chinese market.
