Sumitomo Seika H1 fiscal 2024 results: sales of SAP up 10.1%
TOKYO, Japan, November 11, 2024-
For the six months ended Sept. 30, Sumitomo Seika’s net sales grew by 6.2% year on year to 73.98 billion yen ($0.48 billion). Operating income achieved a year-on-year increase of 29.8% to 4.91 billion yen. Ordinary income surged by 11.7% to 4.73 billion yen. Net income attributable to owners of the parent jumped by 16.2% to 3.33 billion yen.
In terms of the super absorbent polymers (SAP) segment, during the period under review, net sales increased by 10.1% year on year to 57.23 billion yen. Operating income grew by 26.2% to 3.47 billion yen. This was due chiefly to favorable impacts of changes in foreign exchange rates and increased sales volume in the Chinese market.
