Proliferating trade wars bring uncertainty to global nonwovens supply chain; what’s next?

Between the renewed US-China trade war and a widening circle of tariff threats and counter-threats involving various other countries and other industries, companies in the nonwovens supply chain are increasingly asking themselves what will happen next to threaten established trade patterns and supply relationships.

With Walmart and other US retailers saying they would have to raise retail prices to offset higher import costs and the United States and the European Union threatening each other with retaliatory tariffs in a dispute over government subsidies for the manufacture of civil aircraft, one US buyer asked, “How can you plan anything in this environment?”
