
Over 300 delegates attend AWipes25 in Shanghai, ‘sustainable’, ‘lyocell fiber’ being hot concepts
SHANGHAI, April 15, 2025-
Organized by China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA), the Asia Wipes Summit 2025 (AWipes25) was held in Shanghai on Apr. 2-3. Theme of this edition was “Together for a Same Goal”. More than 300 delegates attended the conference. Seventeen presentations and two panel discussions attracted the attentions of all the people. “Sustainability”, “environmental-friendly” are always the hot concepts. Lyocell fiber this time has also been discussed a lot among delegates
2024 output. Li Guimei, President of CNITA shared the newest updated statistics on the Chinese nonwovens industry in her keynote speech. The domestic market demand has recovered to a growing stage in 2024, she said. Turbulences of demand brought by the pandemic have generally dispersed. China’s overall nonwovens output achieved a year-on-year increase of 2.9% to 8.38 million tonnes in 2024 (2023 output: 8.14 million tonnes), which has doubled compared with the output of 10 years ago.
