OrganoClicks biobased nonwoven binders nominated for the 2024 World of Wipes Innovation Award
TABY, Sweden , May 24, 2024-
The World of Wipes® is an annual trade fair and conference hosted by INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, gathering the wipe industry and experts within the field of wipes. During the conference one product will be awarded the innovation award for the year. OrganoClick’s biobased and biodegradable nonwoven binder, OC-BioBinder® Lily1450 has been chosen as one of three finalists for the 2024 World of Wipes Innovation Award® due to its ability of replacing plastic binders in nonwoven. Thus enabling 100% plastic free, fossil free and home compostable wipes. The winner will be announced on the 20th of June in Minneapolis, after a voting by the conference attendees.
Many nonwovens are today made by cellulosic fibers bonded together with a non-degradable plastic binder. The resulting material becomes a hybrid material, partly cellulosic and partly plastic. This material can neither be recycled nor composted and must be incinerated after use.
