SHANGHAI, March 13, 2025-
In April 2024, Nonwovens Markets reported that Oji, a leader in the pulp and paper industry of Japan would strengthen production and supply of adult diapers for the Japanese domestic market, and would end its baby diaper production in Japan at the end of September 2024. Oji recently announced that its subsidiary Oji Nepia will consolidate its adult diaper facilities. Its Fujinomiya facility will be closed in January 2026. Its Fukushima and Nagoya facilities will continue manufacturing the adult incontinence products. The Nagoya facility will add new adult incontinence products machines. Through the capacity consolidation, Oji aims to promote its adult diaper production efficiency and profitability.
According to Oji, the equipment of the Fujinomiya facility has been deteriorated, which could not reflect and meet clients’ requirements well. Products manufactured by the Fujinomiya facility will be manufactured by the Fukushima and Nagoya facilities in the future. The employees of the Fujinomiya facility will be arranged to other subsidiaries or companies of Oji.
