Nonwovens companies' quarterly results are mixed but offer some welcome good news in each case
CLOVERDALE, CA, August 9, 2018-
Nobody is minting money, but recent quarterly reports from three major nonwovens companies included encouraging signs of good profitability ahead, while core nonwoven markets for each firm seem to be growing at healthy rates.
Lydall sounded happy about its filtration markets and Glatfelter was pleased with its airlaid business. However, perhaps the biggest corporate sigh of relief came from Suominen, which said that its new wetlaid hydroentangled line in Bethune, South Carolina “turned positive on gross profit towards the end of the quarter” after months of struggling with a very challenging startup.
