Mondi starts up production lines for meltblown fabric and medical facemasks at its Gronau site




WILMOT, NH, April 1, 2021-

Mondi plc started up a new meltblown nonwovens machine and a new facemask converting line at its Gronau plant in northwestern Germany, the company said month. The new equipment gives it the ability to manufacture more than one million EU Standard Type IIR medical facemasks per day.

When the lines were originally announced last year, the company said that in addition to supplying its own facemask converting equipment with meltblown fabric, Gronau would sell about half of its meltblown output to other facemask manufacturers.
