TOKYO, February 17, 2025-

For the first three quarters of fiscal 2024 (Apr.1-Dec.31, 2024), Mitsui Chemicals sales revenue increased by 5% year on year to 1,338.8 billion yen ($8.8 billion). Operating income before special items grew by 4.7% year on year to 75.8 billion yen. Operating income surged by 11.5% to 66.9 billion yen. Net income attributable to owners of the parent after accounting for income taxes and non-controlling interests increased by 1.2% to 37.7 billion yen.

Sales revenue of the life & healthcare solutions segment (which includes its nonwoven fabrics business) increased by 17.9 billion yen year on year to 206.5 billion yen and comprised 15% of total sales. Operating income before special items grew by 2.4 billion yen to 20.9 billion yen. Sales of the nonwovens business rose due to business integration.
