Kuraray posted its earnings results for the first half of 2024 (January 31-June 30, 2024) today. Net sales increased by 7.93% to 411.22 billion yen ($2.79 billion). Operating income grew by 11% to 45.46 billion yen. Ordinary income rose by 14.2% to 44.02 billion yen. Net income attributable to owners of the parent surged by 39.4% to 30.45 billion yen.

The nonwovens business is mainly included in the company’s fibers and textiles segment. In the first half of 2024, net sales of this segment increased by 1.07 billion yen to 31.23 billion yen. Operating income of this segment grew by 56 million yen to 721 million yen.
