Klabin delays additional fluff capacity amid focus on deleveraging, sees positive outlook for packaging
SAO PAULO, November 6, 2024-
Pulp and packaging paper producer Klabin is still considering a new investment in softwood fluff capacity, but it will not take place in the next two years, chief executive officer Cristiano Teixeira told analysts during a call on Tuesday November 5.
Klabin is concentrating on high-added-value markets such as geriatric diapers and other products that demand softwood fluff while production costs in Brazil are very competitive, according to the executive. He said the company is focused on deleveraging.
