Hayat Kimya announces $158 million expansion into Pakistan

CLOVERDALE, CA, February 15, 2018-

Turkish hygiene products manufacturer Hayat Kimya will invest 600 million Turkish lira (about $158 million at current rates) to establish a manufacturing presence in Pakistan, according to South Asian media reports. The new plant will initially produce Molfix baby diapers and the Papia and Familia ranges of tissue products.

Hayat Kimya has been expanding aggressively in recent years. In 2014 Nonwovens Markets reported that the company was planning to install a spunmelt machine in a plant in Turkey to supply fabric for its hygiene products; in February 2017 Nonwovens Markets reported that the machine was expected to be delivered at any time, with its output displacing some purchases from Gulsan among other suppliers.
