Freudenberg closes Argentine hygiene machine; moves business to Brazil site [correction]

CLOVERDALE, CA, August 17, 2018-

Freudenberg Performance Materials has shut down a carded nonwovens machine at its Argentine plant, moving the product portfolio from the idled line to a plant in Brazil, according to a company spokesman. The line that was shut down served hygiene customers; other machines at the Argentine facility continue to operate, serving customers in the shoe and interlining business.

The Villa Zagala facility near Buenos Aires has mainly served both durable products markets such as interlinings and footwear, along with some hygiene products, on three drylaid lines and a carded line. A key focus of the hygiene machine was acquisition-distribution layer products.
