Cardinal Health announces major recalls of surgical gowns and procedure packs




CLOVERDALE, CA, February 13, 2020-

US-based medical supplies giant Cardinal Health announced a voluntary recall of 9.1 million surgical gowns on January 21 and then, the following week, began “voluntary field actions” affecting 2.9 million procedure packs containing of a number of these recalled gowns. It said it had discontinued its relationship with the Chinese company at the heart of the problem with the gowns.

Surgical gowns are commonly manufactured from nonwoven fabrics, as are a number of other single-use medical items such as caps, face masks, scrub suit shoe covers, lab coats, bedding, tissue scaffolding, under pads and wound care products.
