LONGLAVILLE, France , April 25, 2024- CARBIOS, (Euronext Growth Paris: ALCRB), a pioneer in the development and industrialization of biological technologies to reinvent the life cycle of plastics and textiles, today inaugurated the world's first PET biorecycling plant in the presence of representatives of local authorities, partner brands and industrial partners who are part of the CARBIOS ecosystem. Located in Longlaville, in the Grand-Est region, CARBIOS' first commercial plant will play a key role in the fight against plastic pollution, offering an enzymatic depolymerization solution for PET waste on an industrial scale in order to accelerate a circular economy for plastics and textiles. The plant will have a capacity of 50kt/year of prepared waste when it is operating at full capacity. The progress of the work is in line with schedule and significant quantities will be delivered to customers in 2026.
