Airlaid markets feel a bit tight to some; big question: is the cause growing demand, or is it short supply?

CLOVERDALE, CA, September 5, 2019-

Airlaid markets often appear to take two steps forward and then two back; but at the moment, market participants suggest they are moving forward at a modest pace. A European observer reported that an unusual number of customers are looking for new sources or increased volumes, and North American market participants said a small number of producers are considering possible capacity additions.

As a result, mature regions are beginning to be described by some observers as feeling a little bit tight, for the first time in years.
