RKW plans to consolidate some film manufacturing capacity, closing plants in Philippsthal and Zaragoza

FRANKENTHAL, GERMANY, November 23, 2015-

The RKW Group, a global manufacturer of plastic films and nonwovens, is gearing up for further profitable and global growth. Some manufacturing capacity is being consolidated, which although a natural conclusion of recent acquisitions and growth, leads to the closure of two production sites. The plants affected are RKW Werra in Philippsthal, Germany, which legally belongs to RKW Agri GmbH & Co. KG, and RKW Iter S.A.U. in Zaragoza, Spain. The closures will affect around 180 people.

Products manufactured at the RKW Iter S.A.U. plant in Zaragoza, Spain, include printed films for the beverage and hygiene industry. The portfolio of the RKW plant in Philippsthal covers mainly films for the agriculture market.
