FINANCIAL ANALYSTS: Fluff pulp -- Domtar and International Paper to benefit from Sun Paper’s shift of Arkansas mill project to dissolving pulp [VRP]

NEW YORK, December 1, 2016-

excerpt from Vertical Research Partners

Sun Paper Now Looking at Dissolving Pulp – We learned from the website of Little Rock, AR based public television station KUAR (in a story published last week) that Sun Paper Industry of China has abandoned its original plan to build a 700,000 metric ton (tonne) per year fluff pulp mill in Clark County, AR. Instead, the project, still slated to cost around $1.3 billion, is now slated to produce dissolving pulp. (We believe this mill would produce something less than 700,000 tons of dissolving pulp (DP) – with this output likely to be totally or almost totally aimed at the lower-end of the DP market.
