Suominen starts planning for new wetlaid machine, to be installed in North America

CLOVERDALE, CA, January 30, 2015-

Suominen is developing plans to install a new wetlaid line in North America, the company said today. It did not specify a location for the new unit. The company currently operates a wetlaid line at its Windsor Locks, Connecticut plant, acquired from Ahlstrom in 2011. Markets to be served by the new machine would include "several higher value-adding end-use applications".

No time-frame was identified for installation of the new line, and a budget was not specified although CEO Nina Kopola did say that "it is safe to conclude that this constitutes the most significant single initiative in the 30 - 50 million Euro growth investment program we announced in December."
