Pulpmakers taking 52,000 tonnes of maintenance shuts, including IP fluff pulp

OAKLAND, CA, April 16, 2014-

Several North American market pulp producers have regularly-scheduled annual maintenance downtime at mills in the USA and Canada. Canfor Pulp, International Paper, Daishowa-Marubeni, and NewPage have either shuttered mills or will soon do so, RISI's PPI Pulp & Paper Week reported.

Canfor Pulp will shed an estimated 10,000 tonnes of market northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) output this month due to regularly scheduled maintenance downtime, industry contacts said. Its mills are in British Columbia.
